Year 5/6 Egyptian Day

Today we had a visit from Doc, an egyptionologyst, who explained all things Ancient Egyptian to us. We learnt about the country, the pharaohs, tools/weapons and mummification.  We had a brilliant day.

 

 

                                       We played a game called The Hounds and the Jackals.
                                       It was an Ancient Egyptian game similar to snakes and ladders.

We measured using cubics, palms and fingers.

 

We mummified a pharaoh. Taking out the internal organs was horrible and wrapping the mummy was  difficult.
