Today we explored Woburn Safari park looking for all the animals we have been reading about in our class text The Butterfly Lion by Michael Murpurgo. We were excited to see lots of lions, zebra, antelope and giraffes on our safari drive. We likes the bears and tigers too. Walking around the park we went through the wallaby enclosure, desert springs area and lemur walk through where we got very close to the animals and talked to the keepers, asking many questions, watching them get fed. In our classroom session we learnt about African animals and how they have adapted to live in their habitats, we saw and touched a vertebrae from a giraffes neck, they have 7, and looked at a giraffes skull. We also learnt about food chains and what would happen if one part of a chain was taken away. We have had a fantastic day learning lots of facts about animals and where they live.
