VEX IQ Nationals day 2

We headed back to Telford today to complete our competition. We practiced our driving and completed some more skills runs, talked to judges and took part in 3 more teamwork challenges. We were in final 5 with Earlsdon team A and scored 74 points. This left us in 5th place after all teams had completed their finals. We enjoyed our experience and are excited to try the new game next year.

VEX IQ National Competition

Today we had an early start heading to Telford for the VEX IQ National Competition. We were excited but a little anxious when we saw the size of the hall and number of teams involved. We settled in to our pit and got acquainted with the teams in our division. We felt more confident as the day went on practicing our skills and taking part in many team challenges. We were so happy to get a high score of 91 in one of our drives, our highest challenge score to date. At the end of the first day of competition we are placed in 7th. Well done all you have done all at Howes proud.

Competition Day Videos

We were in the Lovelace division in the following matches.

While at the competition we saw a robotic dog which could walk about and pick up his bone!

VEX IQ mini league finals

This afternoon we joined other primary schools from Coventry to finalise our mini league. We took part in 6 matches then a final match. We have seen a vast improvement in our skills and enjoyed the chance to compete with our friends. Overall we had teams finish in the top half of the table. We did our best in the final matches and did ourselves and our school proud.

Archery

Today we went to the Alan Higgs Centre to take part in an archery event, we had a brilliant time and improved all our aiming skills.
