Vex IQ Competition Day

 Today we took part in our second VEX IQ competition, this time here in Coventry at King Henry VIII School. We all passed inspection and the competition was fast paced with 9 team drives each and skills matches to be completed. We all did extremely well and worked really well in our teams. Overall we finished 6th in skills ( driving and programming) and 6th in the team challenges. We are very proud to have won the design award for showing our process of design in our workbooks and explaining how our robot has evolved to the judges. Great big WELL DONE. 

Children’s Remembrance Service

 Today we attended the Children’s Remembrance Service at the War Memorial Park. We payed our respects to the soldiers who gave their lives so we can live in peace. We listened to readings written by children and had a 2 minute silence.

Rock kidz

 Today we had an amazing experience with the Rock kids band. We learnt about how amazing we all are and how we should remind ourselves of this everyday. We were taught a new word YASBA which stands for You’re Amazing So Be Amazing. We had a fantastic time rocking out, dancing and singing.

Charlie and the chocolate factory

 We have been reading Ronald Dahl’s story Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in English lessons, we have watched the film and are writing a first person narrative describing the first meeting with Willy Wonka. Today we made Willy Wonka hats.

VEX Robotics season opener

 Today we travelled down to Harrow on the Hill, London, to take part in the first VEX Full Volume competition. We were all very excited and happy to show our robots and our driving skills. All children impressed the judges with their designs, driving abilities and coded drives. One of our teams finished 6th overall on the team challenges and 5th in the skills test, well done team B! Another of our teams won the judges award with a robot that could shake the judges hand, Congratulations team A. Overall a brilliant day for all.

Ancient Greek Day

 Today we had great fun during our Ancient Greek Day. We learnt about life in Sparta, made mosaic pictures, looked at Ancient Greek life, medicines, Greek writing, games and sports. We learnt a lot and had fun. 

I enjoyed getting dressed up. L

I put on a Greek helmet, it was really heavy. My friend had a cow skin hat on his head. Z

I liked trying writing and trying the sports. Y
