We enjoyed a morning of poetry at Stivichall Primary School with other young ambassadors from schools in our area. We were taught to write Haiku and Renga poems both involved a structure counting syllables. Our poems were about nature. We all worked well together to write and read our poems to the group.

NDCS listening bus
Today we were lucky to have a visit from the listening bus, we looked at different technology that can help us become more independent. We saw alarm clocks that vibrate to help us wake up, different alarm clocks and streamers to help us listen to music. After a break we learnt about emotional health, we talked about things that make us happy and how to be more confident and how to deal with negative feelings. Our friends from our mainstream classes each had a turn in the bus to learn some deaf awareness and how they can communicate with us. We met a hearing dog and learnt all the things she does to help her owner to be aware of sounds, she is very clever.
