NDCS listening bus

Today we had a visit from the NDCS. We learnt about some of the new technology we can use to help us. We likes the vibrating alarm and the different headphones to help us listen to music.

Deaf awareness workshop year 2

We have visited our classes to talk to the hearing children about deafness. Miss Sime talked about different ways deaf and hearing children can talk, work and play together. Ms. Whitmarsh-Knight showed the classes some hearing aids, cochlear implants and radio aids. All the children learnt some new signs too.

Deaf Awareness Week

This week we are all learning all about deafness. Our teachers are visiting all classes to talk to everyone about our hearing aids and cochlear implants. They are also teaching everyone about deaf awareness. We have had an assembly giving us some useful information about how to communicate with our friends and learnt some new signs.

Bubbles with the Science Museum

Today we had a visit from the science museum. We really enjoy the bubbles assembly and are excited to take some of the mixture home to show our parents.

Reading Scales

Today we made biscuits in maths. We used scales to weigh the ingredients and a teaspoon to measure the liquid. Our biscuits were really nice.
