NDCS listening bus

Today we were lucky to have a visit from the listening bus, we looked at different technology that can help us become more independent. We saw alarm clocks that vibrate to help us wake up, different alarm clocks and streamers to help us listen to music. After a break we learnt about emotional health, we talked about things that make us happy and how to be more confident and how to deal with negative feelings. Our friends from our mainstream classes each had a turn in the bus to learn some deaf awareness and how they can communicate with us. We met a hearing dog and learnt all the things she does to help her owner to be aware of sounds, she is very clever.

Chocolate Cake

Our new text in class this term is the poem Chocolate Cake by Michael Rosen. We have made our own chocolate cake to help us picture the words and emotions in the poem. We have watched Michael Rosen tell the poem and the link is above. Take a look at our pictures and see what you think of our amazing, delicious cake.
