Learning about family
The children in Year 1 and 3 watched some of the programmes from
the 'Our Family' series last term in school. They should be able to tell
you lots about Maia and her family, and should remember some words that we have
learned - uncle, auntie, cousin, sister, brother, Mr, Mrs, granny,
grandpa - to name a few. Although these programmes do not have sign
language, they do have subtitles and are really fun to watch. You might
want to watch a programme that your child has seen before, and let them tell
you all about it. Then perhaps try a new one, with lots of talking about
who is in the family and what they did. Enjoy!
