People who help us
On a Friday when Mrs Thomson comes to teach us we have been looking at people who help us. We have looked at lots of pictures, had stories told to us by Mrs Thomson and acted out scenes linkes to different jobs. Last week we looked at a visit to the dentist.
Singing
The younger group have been enjoying learning new songs in their numeracy lessons. So far they have sung 10 in the bed, 5 cheeky monkeys, 10 little aeroplanes, 5 aliens in a flying saucer and elephants on a spiders web.

Great fire of London
In literacy the older children have been looking at the Great Fire of London. We have looked at Samuel Peyps diary and watched a clip of the fire to help us imagine what it would have been like at that time in history. We then wrote our own diary extracts which are on the wall in our classroom.
Owl class
This year the H.I.U have become the owl class. We have looked at different owls and talked about their features. On the I Pads we made pic collages to show what we had learnt.
New school year
Butterfly garden
In the summer we made a butterfly garden. We looked at the types of flowers butterflies like and planned the garden to include as many of them as we could. Keeley came and helped us to plan and dig our garden. We didn't have to dig much as we made lasagne beds, these are made by layering soil and straw to build up flower beds. We had to make sure that each layer was watered well so that it was all very wet. Next we got to choose which flowers we wanted to plant and dig them a hole to put them in. When we had finnished we had an opening ceremony. Mrs O'Connor cut the ribbon.
